A little about them!
We also have Rafael, an 11-year-old boy who is not currently attending school because his mother is illiterate and cannot spell his name correctly or obtain a copy of his birth certificate. We are currently assisting her with the necessary paperwork to enroll him in school. Our center is a place of safety and support for children like Zapaton, Tati, Nico, and Rafael, who may not have access to basic necessities or educational opportunities. We strive to provide a welcoming environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive. Unfortunately, some government employees make it difficult on some people.
NiKo
The Singer
Niko, a 13-year-old girl, is a regular visitor to our center. Though she cannot speak a word of English, she has a special talent for singing. Her favorite song to sing is “Baby” by Justin Bieber, and she can do so flawlessly. She is shy when it comes to singing in front of boys her age, but as soon as they pass by, she puts on a show like her life depended on it. Despite her language barrier, her love for music is universal and brings her much joy.
Rafael
Eager Lerner
Rafael is an 11-year-old boy who doesn’t attend school because his mother is illiterate and cannot obtain his birth certificate. We are currently assisting her in the process. Rafael is an eager learner and a regular visitor at our center, where we provide assistance to children in need.
Sandy
The Hunter
Sandy is a young boy who comes to our center seeking help and support. He is 11 years old and has a keen eye for finding treasures that he can sell to make some money. Despite his challenging circumstances, Sandy remains optimistic and always greets others with a smile. We are glad to provide him with a safe and welcoming space where he can receive assistance and engage in activities that promote his development.
Zapaton
Shoe guy
Zapaton, whose real name is unknown to us, is a 10-year-old boy who wakes up early in the morning to go clean shoes at the local courthouse. He is a hard worker with a kind heart. When he makes enough money cleaning shoes, he shares it with other children, buying them candy and food, even if he doesn’t know them.
